From Foundation to Facade Founded in 1986, Jay Jalaram Brick Works began with a clear intent—to manufacture high-quality structural bricks for the Indian market. Over time, architects and engineers recognised not only the strength of our bricks, but also their visual character, natural textures, and tonal depth.

Our history

1986

Formation of a brick manufacturing unit in Godhra, Gujarat. Production of clay structural bricks commences.

1993

A second kiln goes into operation, doubling the plant’s production capacity.

1996

With superior clay quality and advanced manufacturing capabilities, the firm shifted focus toward facing brick production. JJB successfully delivered its first facing brick project.

2008

JJB invested in Basic clay preparation systems and initiated automation of traditional brick manufacturing processes.

2009

JJB unveiled “Genuine Hand Moulded Cladding Bricks” for the first time within the Asian market. This initiative emerged as a boon for architects seeking authentic handmade cladding bricks.
JJB installed India’s first ever European extrusion line from CERATEC and HÄNDLE.

2010

JJB started exporting clay brick products. The quality service commitment has positioned JJB – India’s largest producer and exporter of facing bricks.

2011

Brick factory introduced new handling systems and installed drying chambers for the extrusion line from Ceratec, Belgium.

2015

JJB elevated its manufacturing excellence through equipment enhancement and automation across the preparation plant. Sophisticated preparation systems with state of the art recipe architecture have positioned Jay Jalaram Brick Works as an undisputed and innovative leader in clay brick manufacturing.

2017

First of its kind, brick experience centers - The Brick Store are introduced in the country. The Brick Store by JJB became a gift for brick lovers to explore International clay facing brick range.

2020

Brick factory installed the most versatile soft mud line in the world with De Boer Machines, Netherlands.

2021

With 35 years of Brick Mastery, Jay Jalaram Brick Works continues to transform visionary designs into reality through a broad spectrum of premium clay brick offerings.The Brick Store grows to 9 destinations across the nation, still expanding.

2025

The launch of the Brick Café in Godhra introduced a new way to experience brick. Designed as an architectural space for architects, designers, and visitors, it presents one of India’s widest ranges of facing bricks within a warm and immersive setting—where material exploration meets meaningful design conversation.

Manufacturing Process

Clay Preparation

Raw clay is selected, refined, blended, and conditioned to precise specifications, ensuring consistent material quality before forming begin.

Hand Made Bricks

Prepared clay is hand moulded into brick forms, creating natural textures and subtle variations inherent to traditional craftsmanship methods.

Extrusion

Conditioned clay is mechanically extruded through calibrated dies, forming uniform brick sections with controlled density and dimensional accuracy.

Hand Simulated Bricks

Extruded bricks undergo surface treatment processes to simulate handmade textures while maintaining controlled production consistency throughout batches.

Drying

Formed bricks are dried gradually under controlled environments to remove moisture evenly and prevent deformation or internal cracking.

Kiln Loading

Dried bricks are systematically arranged within kilns to allow uniform heat circulation during the firing cycle.

Firing

Bricks are fired at high temperatures, permanently transforming clay into durable masonry units with stable colour and strength.

Brick Blend & Process

Fired bricks from multiple batches are blended and processed to achieve tonal consistency and quality compliance.

Packaging

Quality Assured bricks are securely packaged for storage, transportation, and site handling without compromising finish or structural integrity.

Acetech Exhibition - Mumbai

At ACETECH Mumbai, JJB – The Brick Store introduced a gallery-like installation where architects and designers experienced the depth, texture, and timeless material presence of authentic clay bricks.

IIID Exhibition

At IIID Ahmedabad, JJB – The Brick Store unveiled an experiential installation by Ar. Bhumi Soni, guiding visitors through 10–20 curated brick and cladding applications across architectural and interior settings—an award-recognized presentation.

Demand Democracy

At Design Democracy Hyderabad, JJB – The Brick Store collaborated on the Museum of Telangana pavilion, featuring brick flooring and a curved brick wall within a museum-like installation showcasing eight architectural studios.

Our passion for creating a world-class product was rewarded when our quality was graciously appreciated by the international market. JJB is the largest Facing Brick exporter in Asia, with approximately 60% of our production destined for international markets. Our commitment to quality knows no borders. We have a strong presence in Europe, Oceania and GCC. Today we proudly export to almost 46 countries and counting.
